Ever since we published two handful of ideas on Solving the Animal Shelter Problems- at

we have once again gotten a good number of feedback and comments.
From these, we are here to publish the single best idea, yet to be discussed, on solving this problem ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Most of the ideas in the past are pretty decent, but they all work on a meager scale of solving the problem of the dog/cat population at 6 times the humans- which translate to about 42 Billion lives, which in turn translate to an average household of four taking care of 24 dogs/cats to solve the problem?!?!
Unless you operate an animal sanctuary or run a pet shop, the chance of taking care of 24 animals is really more like a childhood fairy tale.
Animal Sanctuaries of all kinds and sizes are the only operators that can possibly handle these numbers.
But most are not run efficiently due to lack of a budget and are not modeled correctly- most function as charities asking for money merely to survive, are sad and too dirty to visit, and are not modeled as a business to sustain the operation long term. The owners have great enormous hearts, but no strategy.
We say it is time to Thrive! Not just Survive.
We need a non profit consulting incubator to help all sanctuaries transform efficiently into centers of never ending FUN and Bubbly Magical JOY of hanging out with the animals.
The Sanctuary will at least have a quality Cafe (think Starbucks, as the food business is always a Must to easily build a cash flow positive model) and be modeled off a mini Zoo (think Bronx Zoo who breakevened on 40 million revenue each yr on a $23 admission, offering shows, rides and other great fun stuff with gifts etc)
Pet cafe is nothing new, where many have blossomed around different parts of the world, especially in asia.
The mini zoo/sanctuary will be the challenge - the consulting nonprofit will make sure that the Entertainment Element is clearly packaged in the offering, marketed towards all animals lovers, schools, family and kids, with frequent round-trip bus rides provided. Think the hybrid of Disney Land and Bronx Zoo and u get the point- dont need elaboration here.
Only when we train these already operable sanctuaries and help these passionate owners transform them into profitable business operations, with tons of positive cash flow, could they individually go out there and save more animals and expand their rescue exponentially- hopefully reaching the 42 billion number sooner than later.
So who would like to raise their magic wand and scatter the seeds in creating these FUN and FULFILLING places, where all different hybrid species of cats and dogs peacefully gather, where they in turn, with amusement, human-watch us sip our green tea latte?
