SOLVING the Animal Shelter Problem Part 1


There  are 6 times as many cats and dogs in the world as there  are humans, which puts it roughly 3 cats and dogs to every one person.   If the goal is to save every cat and dog out there on the street, one person have to adopt 3 cats and 3 dogs. A family of 4 will have 12 cats and 12 dogs. A monumental and quite impossible task. So there must be alternatives.
Below are some ideas I gather:

a.        Pet Café or Animals Café – think starbucks and shelter for dogs/cats mash into one. Cleanliness and smell will be a challenge but not impossible. Could become a franchise nationwide for animal lovers to hang out and play with baby sheltered animals and drink coffee. And possible adoption introduction model.

b.        There should be a Jobs message board for cats and dogs that list the jobs they could do. For eg security work for dogs, roles in film making, companionship jobs at old folk home, child care centers, children hospital, mental healthcare centers etc.  Other jobs include animals for weddings, birthday parties, and special occasions can be heavily promoted.

c.        Shelters should focus on opening up in locations next to an animal adoption friendly zone like  childcare centers, old folk homes, high schools and any areas as listed in part b. that want lots of animals . That way, physical and monetary effort for the care of animals could be shared equally.

d.        Maybe adopting a pet can make u some pocket money!  Advertising can be put on a light scarf wringle around a dog and cats neck or body.. Or the handkerchief could be tied up to a leash to show off the corporate sponsor logo.   A pet ad network business could be set up on the web to spur this business.  This business will propel more adoption.

e.        Racing- there has been controversies  in regard to dog racing.  But if horse racing is still allowed, and if the dogs are being treated nicely and fairly, why is that a bad alternative compared to killing them and  putting the dogs to sleep? Maybe instead of racing, other entertainment ideas that use massive number of cats and dogs should be encouraged, such as dog and cat shows etc.
I am definitely not in the camp of taking advantage of animals for business or entertainment. Nor am I advocating legal forms of gambling. But if we going to solve the 6 animals for 1 human problem, then lets get realistic ,or the animals face the only alternative of death.

e. We should set up a msg board in social media for Saving Animals -ideas, like the above, to share, improvise and maybe encourage certain entrepreneurship on the ideas.
